Daryl.

I can't make it on these days. sad.gif What's the arrangements on May? I will bring my friends along.
Also I have question about the consultant that called us when they searched our resume in Jobstreet.

- Are they from Jobstreet? or any other recruitment companies?
- Because we don't know them but even when the first time they called, they asked something very confidential for example, current salary etc.
- How can we ensure if they are a good recruitment companies & they are eligible to ask about our P&C?
- I have received a call from one recruiter (not Jobstreet) asking to meet up to know me further about but I politely told them I have stated all my experiences and if anything else to know maybe can talk on the phone but the respond is sounded very angry, they replied saying that if I don't meet up with them, they can't force me, etc. Sound like somebody get angry or something (mind you, this recruiter is the director of a company ohmy.gif )
- There's one recruiter sending my CV to hers client without asking my permission even. How would you advise if I encountered this?
- Some call up without sending in JD, but started to ask for CV for their database. Should I provide them? How can I trust them? they sound like will bugging me in the future because my CV is on their hands! dry.gif

Thanks a lot. smile.gif

In view of the strong response of the earlier retrenchment talks and career job hunting talks, we have decided to continue with these talks.

There are some suggestions that we could do it over the weekend, as some are not able to attend over lunch time or evening time during weekdays.

So, now, we have created 3 new sessions here.

18th April (Sat) - 11am to 1pm - Specially targeted for Fresh Grads/Students
18th April (Sat) - 2pm to 4pm - This is for everyone
25th April (Sat) - 11am to 1pm - Specially targeted for Managers and above

Hi Ameo,

I'm sure we are going to run the talk in May as well. We want to stop running the talk but it seems that the group is getting bigger each time we run the talk. Meaning that they are still people out there who need help. We will continue to run it till one day no one will come for it anymore. I don't have a firm date yet for May but please do check your inbox for the edm or in this forum for an announcement.

To answer your questions:

- Are they from Jobstreet? or any other recruitment companies?

It can be either one. Do ask them who they are? If they do not reveal who they are, then tell them you are not interested. I don't see any reason why the caller cannot reveal who they are. However, they may not reveal who their client is. But still ask them. No harm asking.

- Because we don't know them but even when the first time they called, they asked something very confidential for example, current salary etc.

Yes...that is a normal questions. However before you reveal the answer, ask them about the job. Tell them you want to know more about the job and ask them for the JD.

- How can we ensure if they are a good recruitment companies & they are eligible to ask about our P&C?

You can't tell whether they are good or bad if you are not in the industry. You can easily refuse to answer and politely them that you do feel comfortable revealing any information, and again ask them about the job and JD. Tell them that you want to review the job and if interested..you call them back

Well...normally the firm still want to meet you in person for an interview, to understand you better. That is normal. But you are not interested in the job, politely them that you are not looking for a job now. Yes,,,you are right..they can't force you.

- There's one recruiter sending my CV to hers client without asking my permission even. How would you advise if I encountered this?

By right, the recruiter need your approval to official submit your CV to their client. I do not know the detail for what you experienced but the recruiter may want to see whether the client is interested in you before contacting you. By no means, they can officially submit your CV before you approval. If you have the case...just tell the client that you are not aware of this and you have not agreed to anyone to submit your CV

- Some call up without sending in JD, but started to ask for CV for their database. Should I provide them? How can I trust them? they sound like will bugging me in the future because my CV is on their hands! dry.gif

No..always ask them for a JD. There is no point for them to submit your CV if you are not interested in the job. Some recruiter can be so desperate to hit the min quantity of CV for their client to evaluate. You can make it clear to them that you do not agree with the opportunity until you see the JD.
